The proud product of 20 some hours of wrapping

The shameful reminder that I will fish with for years... :(

Trust me... dont forget your color preserver

Is there anything I can do to improve it or is it faded for good?

Not a mistake...... good practice! If you don't like it, strip it off and do it again....I would.

I'd strip and re wrap with an under wrap so the blank doesn't show as it does now. Or just close the wrap. That's just my opinion.

I certainly would NOT strip the wrap. I would simply enjoy your beautiful rod.

Maybe get more NCP thread so ya don't have to worry about CP -- LOL

Why did you NOT put CP on the wrap

If you were Unsure Ask here and some one witll tell you why or why not

If you are going to look down at it every time you are fishing and think of it as a shameful error then I would definitely re-do it. It looks nice but if it is not the look you wanted then by all means re-do it. You are not really out any money, thread is cheap. As far as time..... it is worth it to get it perfect in your eye.

Or, if you don't like looking at the wraps when you are fishing. it is very simple.
Take a roll of electricians tape and cover up your wraps. Then, you don't have to look at the wraps.

But, in any event, I really don't see the issue. You have a very beautiful rod. It may not be the rod it intended it to be, but it is still a great looking rod.

If you don't want to use it your self, put it up for sale and sell it for a $1000 and then go build a rod that you want to build.

Be safe

You are your customer in this situation.... if your customer paid you $200 for a bright vibrant wrap, you would never hand them a dull (but great looking wrap), you would simply re-do it.

Bill B - I forgot because I had just gotten back from out of town and was too excited and completely forgot :(

I think Ill do what some of you said to and keep it until winter and replace it if I still want to. Who knows... maybe it will grow on me!

I some times put a piece of tape maybe on the handle and wright a note to me of what has to be done or what needs to be done
I put it on the rod so I don't loose it

I plan to make a checklist on a big peice of construction paper that I am going to tape to my rod building desk and check stuff off with a dry erase marker. Never going to forget again

I did the same thing once so that's why I say re-wrap. It bugged me until I bartered the rod away for some flooring work.

Just remembered -- You can also put a piece of painters tape on say the end wraps Wright CP on it Just with the tape alone it will tell you you did it for a reason Then you should remember
