microwave guides on ul?

I have been toying with the idea of making an ul less than 5' long. I mainly want the guides for accuracy as I will be using it to cast in brush in a creek for springtime crappie. Anyone with experience with the microwave think its that big of an accuracy or am I over thinking this. Casting distance is short.

I don't believe you can increase or decrease accuracy with guides or guide systems. The lure will always go where you throw it. The guides have nothing to do with it.

But there might be another advantage - if you use a system that takes weight off the rod mid and tip areas, which the NGC and certainly the MIcroWave system will do, you'll have a crisper, better responding rod. I think you'll find it more pleasant to cast. But if you do throw the lure in the bushes, that's still on you.

I use 4 lb braid on all my UL rods

Not the Microwave 's

On a rod that short i would not thing you really need them

If you like the New Thing's Go for it

Yeah Thats what I was thinking but worth checking out. They say longer casts and more accuracy out of the microwaves, so I thought I would ask. Thanks for the help,

If you are talking about a rod that is less than 5 feet, your total guide number and weight is virtually non existent.

Use the guides that make you happy and work for you. But, as Mr. Kirkman suggests, I would doubt that you would find hardly any difference in a days or months use of the rod, whether you were using microwaves, or some other guides.

Good luck

with an UL rig throwing 1-2g lures with very thin lines, what you should worry about is tangle.
chose the guides that will minimize the weight and tangle possibilities
