G'day Guys,
What guides do you like for overhead jig rods (butterfly jigs)? I'm thinking American Tackle in either Virtus Light or Heavy. The rod I am building will be 80lb. Is the Virtus Heavy necessary for this line weight or can I use the Virtus Light? Does anyone have any other suggestions for guides? Fuji MNSG maybe? Regards Jason Re: Guides for overhead jig rod?

Hi Jason,
Another one to look at are the DBlue TUIDG-2's with either Sic or TiO rings. Heavy duty stainless guides that can handle the 80lb easily and are competively priced. ESFNEM Col Port Kembla, NSW Australia Re: Guides for overhead jig rod?

G-Day Jason,
I used the Virtus double footer Heavy's on my 80lb GT poping stick and my 100lb jig stick they a nice guide but are a tad heavy in weight but we did land some nice baby Gts in the 10 to 15kg range and a huge chinaman that would have been at least a meter twenty and a 50kg plus flowerpot cod and they showed no sign of moving/bending although both my rods were spin i think they would do the same job on an overhead jig. Also as Col said the Dbue guides look good although i haven't used them yet but thinking about using a set on my next build Dave O'Brien Port Macquarie Australia Re: Guides for overhead jig rod?

G'day guys,
Thanks for your responses. I will have a look into the dblue guides and also think about the virtus heavy. Cheers Jason Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
