Fuji Boat(?) Guide

I'm looking for the Fuji guides that are used on the Ugly Stik Tiger series. These are SS and have no inserts but are obviously different from the SS304's by Berkeley or the Pac Bay Minimas. They are double foot guides. Anyone know where I can find them? Don't see um on Fuji site. Could it be they are discontinued or may be made special for Shakespeare?

If I remember correctly, the CULG had a Hardloy insert. The ones I'm looking for won't have an insert.

Sorry. Maybe they are the PErfection or PAc Bay? Carbaloy's maybe?

Hello Greg.

I don't know about the tiger series but there are some SS chrome plated model XBG or XBBG(Braced).

MudHole sells these, I don't know if they are the same ones you are looking for.

I have to ask....are you making a repair for someone who is looking to spend as little as possible?

Otherwise my advice is to replace all those guides. Despite the "heavy duty" look I have never had such a failure rate with any other type guide. I hate them with a passion. Truth be told I hate ulgy stiks but their tiger series were a lot better and worth the effort to re-wrap with decent guides on IMHO.

I agree that I would not use these on a rod of mine, but if a customer wants it...

I actually know people who really love these types of guides. I don't really know if it's just the look they like, or if they're nostalgic over them...

No repairs, building rods for throwing a 2-3 oz treble hook to snag alligators. 80 lb mono and don't want to loose an insert. I believe now that they must be PAC-Bays. Thanks for the help guys.

Greg, I'd urge you to consider the "foul proof" style. The ones that look like they are made by wrapping heavy gauge wire around a round piece of steel. Way more durable. The ones you are after look strong but I have had them break a lot....always where the ring is soldered to the frame. The other ones that are durable....if you can find them....are a cast (bronze?brass?).
