Choose a KL Group and you're halfway there

We recently posted information about the expanding selection of KL guides for the KR Concept and you may recall the photo of the selection was divided into groups. Fuji has provided additional information that may make the choice even easier by grouping specific guide together that, when used with NGC and/or KR, will automatically offer a nicely spaced reduction train with excellent performance.

Choose a stripper and its group with the following information in mind.

The size 16 stripper groups are recommended for lighter braid applications (up to 10 and maybe 15lb), and short to medium length rods (to about 6’6”). Use the four guide train for longer rods and/or blanks that bend deep into the bottom third.

The size 20 stripper groups will be the most used, recommended for light mono or fluorocarbon and braid up to 20lb and rods from 6’6” to 7’6”. Use the four guide train for longer rods and/or blanks that bend deep into the bottom third.

The size 25 stripper groups will be primarily for mono and fluorocarbon (and perhaps very heavy braid) above 14lb and rods over 7’. Use the four guide train for longer rods, heavier blanks or blanks that bend deep into the bottom third.

These guidelines are, as usual, a general outline of when and where certain groups may be used. We encourage experimentation and sharing.

Please feel free to save the images to your hard drive for future reference.

It may be browser specific. Just go to the photo page and you should be able to see them.
