Hi guys,
I was wondering for you bass guys what you think is the most comfortable hood setup? Not really a fan of the O.D with EVA and Cork on the hood. Anyone doing anything more streamlined? I usually just cut the threads and put a small EVA piece in front on the blank the hood can twist over. Gotta be something better though right? Re: Most comfortable hood?

I'm sure there are many, who if looking for comfort, still stick with a cork Tennessee handle and tape their reels on. Steve Gardner's Vibronic handle would be pretty comfortable as well.

Adam,
Here is a picture of a hidden hood reel seat. Essentially, your hand touches nothing but cork. Very comfortable and sensitive. The skeletal hood is enclosed in cork. With the skeletal reel seat, the reel rests on cork. Be safe [www.rodbuilding.org] Re: Most comfortable hood?

Are you looking for spinning or casting, both are easy to make for day long comfort. It just takes a little work. Re: Most comfortable hood?

Both.
The way I hold a reel my middle finger on the left either hits reel seat thread or whatever is there. On a casting setup. For spinning I'm looking for seamless down locking. Re: Most comfortable hood?

I use kdps cut in half then an sk hood which needs a couple of turns of 1/4 tape. Kdps fits everything including aeros I also cut about 3/8th off the front of the sk hood ream out the little hole an fit a matagi wcs10 in it fits beautifully.
Jim does anglers carry eva hoods for kdps 16s I can only seem to find cork unless I order through matagi. I know mudhole has cork but no listing for eva. Cheers Mark Newcombe Old Bar NSW Australia markscustomfishing.com American Tackle Pro-Staff Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
