We have them in stock if anyone would like to try a set. Our website has been down for a few days now because of a server issue. Please give us a call if I could help out with anything. Lance Re: Did any one else get the memo

Since the line comes off a casting reel in a straight line, I have to wonder what good this is, other than maybe to catch a few sales from wide eye consumers that don't know any better? Or maybe I'm overlooking something. Re: Did any one else get the memo

I've had some since right around the time Doug passed away.
So they would have had to been in development long before that, while he was alive and able to provide input on their design. You should not speak on subjects to which you have no information or knowledge. Nor do you get to decide what Dough was thinking without first asking him. Edited 1 time(s). No ya got to understand
A casting reel does not have any pigtails to contend with So why bother --- there is no control of line Builders are doing Micro guides as the Butt Guide Bill - willierods.com Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 07/02/2013 08:04PM by bill boettcher. Re: Did any one else get the memo

I am not getting into this too much but this is what the new ATC catalog says about the casting guides
- Smooth line energy transition from reel thru guides - Effective capture & control of line in one guide - Tames side to side, up & down line friction waves - Reduces total guide train weight - Better rod balancing through guide weight distribution - Guide foot-print reduction with “single foot†concept - Blends Micro-Guide & Traditional Concept theories - Stripper guide prevents line over-run reducing risk of backlash - Smoother controlled cast maintains/adds distance, reduces fatigue & increases accuracy ______________________________________ Super Tight Lines......Don Re: Did any one else get the memo

Just advertising jargon. Don't get me wrong, I think it works excellent on spinning rods, as good as any NGC system but makes no sense on casting rods. But just to satisfy myself I might, maybe, try one and see. But it doesn't work right in my head. Re: Did any one else get the memo

It appears the best way to find out how they work is to do a CASTING Micro Wave Challenge. ?? I am going to order a set and see for myself. I also like to have something different and unique at shows. It stimulates interest and sales.

Every one of my spinning outfits both microwave and std have his reels on them and I recommend them to all my clients. Probably have over 10 out there on client builds, as well a 4 that are my own. Ron Weber Re: Did any one else get the memo

I wonder how many folks who are shaking their heads (and fingers) at the casting microwaves have actually tested them...
As far as testing goes...I wonder if they would have any advantage in a simple spiral setup? Re: Did any one else get the memo

I'll share one advantage.
I use 5 or 6mm stripper guides on all casting rods because I have found there to be a performance improvement by doing so. Except on flipping and pitching sticks, where clearance between line and blank is needed for finger space to grab the line with out grabbing the blank. In this case line clearance created by taller/larger 8 or 10mm guides provides that space. With the Microwave stripper guide I now have both the finger space created by the taller guide frame with the smaller guide ring providing the improved performance. Re: Did any one else get the memo

Are there any rumors about micro wave guides for fly rods in the works? Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 07/04/2013 09:40PM by Phil Ewanicki. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
