MHX Blanks is proud to announce our much anticipated saltwater line of blanks is now available!! These blanks have been in development and field testing for 2 years due to their unique designs featuring smaller diameters, light weight and increased sensitivity. Our ProStaff feedback has been a resounding triumph.
The MHX saltwater blanks feature our proprietary new High Pressure Rolling (HPR) process that uses 3 to 4 times the conventional rolling pressure of other blank manufactures. Simply rolling prepreg will not form a homogeneous carbon tube. Rolled under to little pressure, a rod blank will have air gaps, voids and crevasses especially at prepreg overlaps and edges. This trapped air reduces the density, reduces compressive strength and increases segregation. Because of this phenomenon, it’s critical to roll carbon preperg under uniform pressure and heat to remove air pockets, filling all he voids and assuring uniform adhesion. The HPR process is the answer. The High Pressure Rolling (HPR) process increases compressive strength and bond between carbon prepreg layers and decreases shearing of preperg edge voids, excessive entrapped air and segregation. This results in a rod blank which is more sensitive, has less failures, is high responding with faster recovery rates. It’s our HPR process, unique blends of graphite and graphite fiber alignment that makes the MHX Saltwater blanks among the lightest and strongest saltwater blanks available. Like all other MHX blanks, they feature an individual serial number, transferable life time warranty. We invite you to try one today for your next rod and let us know what you think. Building up a SW80-M (8', 15-40#)for a client to be used for casting bucktails at cobia. Very nice looking blank and is very light. Look forward to clients feedback on how she does pulling on some big brown bombers. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
