You may have to look at a fly rod blank to get what you're after.

If your stretch a Batson SB 720-4, it would be a 7 ft, 5 piece. Re: Travell Rod

I managed to find him some 7'6" 3-11lb nano technology 4 piece blanks from DBluefishing. Others that are interested then contact Lily using the link for price and availability. ESFNEM Col Port Kembla, NSW Australia Re: Travell Rod

I'm starting to build 3 of them on MHX 4 pc fly blanks! Mine will be fly/spin convertible but a straight spinning rod on the blank would work fine Mike (Southgate, MI) If I don't want to, I don't have to and nobody can make me (except my wife) cuz I'm RETIRED!! Re: Travell Rod

I too was frustrated that none of the blank manufacturers (that I'm aware of) seem to make a 7 ft 3 piece blank this light. I built 2 rods like this for myself from fly blanks.
One rod is under 7ft and built from the top 3 sections of a 4 piece fly blank. The other rod is about 7ft 6in and also uses the top 3 sections of a 4 piece fly blank, but the handle is built on a larger diameter piece of scrap graphite. The largest fly rod section (3rd) telescopes inside the handle section. This longer, telescoping rod is effectively stiffer and faster than the 3 piece rod but is still slower in taper than most "spinning" rod blanks. I would use a modestly priced 7 weight blank like a Forecast. My estimation is that the ideal casting weight for the 3 piece version is a bit under 1/4 oz.. For the telescoping version ideal casting weight maybe is just a little over 1/4 oz . Re: Travell Rod

Thanks guys,
I got a hold of some off Col. I was going down the fly route aswell but im thinking slower action may not be the best option. Thanks again for the replies.
