I suspect that an appropriate answer to this question about guide foot adhesive - is simply this:
Guide foot adhesive works to adhere guides to a blank when wrapping. But, things like masking tape, elastic bands, elastic cork, nylon straps and other methods work to secure the guides in place while wrapping. Also consider the builders who simply mark a blank, take a few wraps around the blank, then slip the guide foot under the last wrap and finish the wrapping with no other material to hold the guide on the blank. Suffice to say - Building a rod requires a blank on one hand to have guides attached to the blank by the addition of thread and then the thread is coated for a finished rod. Somewhere in between the blank on the right hand and the set of guides in the left hand - a method is needed to temporarily affix the guides in the near correct location for wrapping and coating. Any one of many many different methods work wonderfully well for the user that employs that particular method. So, if you have a guide holding method for a guide onto a blank - use it and enjoy its use. If you find a better method that works better for you, then by all means change and continue to use that method or combination of methods to get the rod assembly done in the best and most time expedient way possible. Good luck and as always be safe Roger Re: Guide foot adhesive

It's widely believed that the top coat of paint will adhere no better than the coat of paint beneath it. Same goes for other adhesives, epoxy included. Re: Guide foot adhesive
