The 70H is more of a 40-80lb class blank. I have both, and I feel they are under rated to begin with. Re: Can anyone build me this Rod?

Get with Billy Vivona, he knows Hercules blanks better than anyone (great choice to replace that model) and he does stellar work. Re: Can anyone build me this Rod?

Chris, that's pretty funny that you feel they are underrated, because I had a @#$%& of a time convincing Seeker that the ratings were accurate. I'm the one that test & rated them and spec'd them out for the catalouges. While you can fish 20#'s on the GTS 70M, it's better suited at 15-18#'s. The 70H ideal drag rating is 22#'s, but I know you can push it to 30#'s. I am not familiar with the particular Loomis blank, but I did help design the Seeker HErcules series which is mentioned here by others. If you need one wrapped like the one in teh photo shoot me an e-mail and we'll make it happen. xlrods@yahoo.com Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 05/02/2013 08:58PM by Billy Vivona. Just found this post fom 2005....
Anyone currently doing this? "Basically you get what you paid for, The G. Loomis Hybrid was so good for the purposes you used it for because the blank was built totally different than anything before it and anything after it." The butt portion was graphite blended with woven graphite, then as you progress up the blank you merged into graphite only, as you went towards the tip, you went into glass, hence the name Hybrid. Unless someone else builds a blank using methods similar to the Hybrid, you will not get the same performance. None mentioned on this posting will do the job the same as your old Hybrid." The reason the Hybrid was so costly was that it was a long and difficult job to build it, because of the high cost, they sold few and therefore dropped the series." Maybe that is why this rod lasted 20 plus years. Re: Can anyone build me this Rod?

Different design, but similar thought to strength and rigidity. When the longer Tri-Flex blanks were discontinued, I moved into Hercules and St Croix Offshore blanks. Thanks Jim, TriFlex was all I could think of at the time and I knew an UglyStix wouldn't fit in there. Dennis J. Danku (Sayreville,NJ) Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
