Expoy like rubber

Had a guide come off of my cranking stick this weekend after look at it found the expoy was comming off of the thread it was like rubber would anyone know what might have been the problem it was only on one guide.

If you have the wrong ratio of resin to hardener you will get a soft finish.

It is also possible that something has gotten onto that specific area that may have softened the epoxy. Maybe.

kinda thought that Tom the expoy did not show to cover the foot aroud the back of the guide just never saw it like rubber before

Could also be you did not completly mix that batch of epoxy and
that guide received an improper mix.

I have seen that several times before.
In every case it was caused by alcohol being left on the blank, or getting into the mix. It ends up with a rubbery mix every time.

second one, i think Roger has the right anwser i had at one time wip down my rods even after wrapping with alcohol
