Hi all,
I would like to know if someone has ever built a Baston IFS 906 as a swimbait rod ? I already have the IFS 904 for small soft swimbait (1 - 4 Oz) and I love its action. I am searching a blank to replace an ISWB 945 but lighter in weight, with more power and with a moderate or moderate fast action. The ISWB 945 has a .605 Butt and 7.5 Tip, and the IFS 906 has a 0.620 Butt and a 8 Tip. Do you think the IFS 906 would be a good choice ? Thanks for your help. Have a nice day. Best regards. What type of swimbait, hard bodied with trebled or soft body with a single hook? What weight swimbait are you building for? Re: Batson IFS 906 has swimbait rod ?

Hi Joel,
I think using both style of swimbait, in 1 - 8 Oz if possible or 1 - 6 Oz if the blank is not strong enough. Do you think that the IFS 906 will not be Fast enough to ensure a good hookset with treble hook ? Re: Batson IFS 906 has swimbait rod ?

I just built one on a SW967. Maybe not as light as you want but it does have a great parabolic bend, which to me is a must for swimbaits with treble hooks. It easily handles 4oz baits and I've thrown up to 6 oz. Re: Batson IFS 906 has swimbait rod ?

I have ever seen the SW 967 but it's really heavy, 5,53 Oz against 3.52 Oz for the IFS 906.
Thanks for your help. Best regards. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
