I know this is a stupid question that has probably already been answered, but what is the system for rod classes? Im talking about how some parts, like guides, are rated for #80 class rods. Can someone please explain this to me. Thanks. Re: Stupid question.

It's called the SWAG system.
Very scientific. Re: Stupid question.

It's just a recommendation based on what the manufacturer feels the components would be suitable for.

There is no information to be found.
The IGFA lists record classifications but only on line class and rod/handle lengths ............ Re: Stupid question.

Tyler,
Never minimize yourself, or your questions. There is no such thing as a question that may not appeal to some folks. The only thing that you have is a lack of knowledge on this particular subject. Perhaps a better way to state your concern would to simply ask how to "remedy your particular issue"> Be safe Roger Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
