Besides Mudhole, who sells paints or other colorants for changing the color of a blank?

Thanks, all.

Hi Rich,
Automotive paint, ie two pack polyurethane works well but the stuff is toxic so you need to take the proper precautions.

I have painted a few blanks with automotive spray and have followed up with a few light layers of clear to protect it. They all came out great just have to take your time and properly prep the rod..

Hi Chris,
I get the local panel beater to do mine as he has got all the right stuff. I've had about a dozen done some with colour and clears and some with two coats of clears. All turned out nicely and have held up well so far. Makes an old rod appear new again!!.

If im doing a higher end rod I always use a true auto base/clear system. Looks great and holds up better than anything else Ive used. If its a lower end rod I will use the auto spray bomb paint from the paint shop. SEMS makes some pretty good stuff. I always use the adhesion promoters even though its probably not necessary.

Down side to auto base/clear is you need the equip to spray it.. Im lucky that I have done a lot of auto stuff so I have it.

So 2 coats of clear col should finish of a raw graphite blank like the mhx range for example. May try this
