Hello Everyone. I am still waiting for a reel seat to get here, so I figured id ask this now while i have some free time. And believe me, I am sorry for the amount of questions. The surf pole im doing is with shrink wrap and its my first time using it, so I'm kinda flying blind. How do I put the shrink wrap on the blank to get a good looking seam with the but cap and grips with the epoxy there? Do I just trim it and heat it right to it or should I get some winding checks and put one at the end of the butt cap and grips like with split grips? And do I apply epoxy under the tubing? And also I'm using a Lamiglas GSB120 2M blank, but the Butts OD is slightly larger than the Id of my butt cap, how can i get them to fit a little better? A seriously large thank you to all who answer. Thanks - Tyler Re: Shrink Wrap

Tyler; I think Batson had a "How to" on their web site awhile back. You might look there and see if you can find it. If you do, I think it will answer most of your questions. Re: Shrink Wrap

3M 444 Double Sided Tape works for me and is very clean and easy to use, Ring the edges and a spiral down the length.

[www.rodbuilding.org] These are the tow photos. The first is of the butt cap, and i dont want those lines exposed, but since i dont have any eva to go above it i was just going to do what i did to the cap in the 2nd photo and heat it. Re: Shrink Wrap

you can use epoxy or 3M spray adhesive. get the smallest shrink tube that will fit over butt, cut the seat end square leave it hang over butt a 1/2" or so. mount it, shrink it , then check fit of butt cap and trim as needed Edited 1 time(s).
