Our DL713 is a great place to start, and maybe, end your search. Our USA made, direct drive motor is built to last. Direct drive means you can manually rotate the rod for fine adjustments while wrapping. It comes with a foot control for hands free operation. Check it out on our website by clicking the link below. This and all of our products can be purchased through many of our dealers that are at the left of the screen. [www.flexcoat.com] The DL713 is also a great guide alignment tool. Check out our videos on guide alignment and tip tops at the links below. [www.flexcoat.com] [www.flexcoat.com] You can also seamlessly use our drying gear motors on the DL713. The Flexcoat wrapper is certainly an option. The American Tackle, Pac Bay, Alps wrappers are all pretty similar and can be had with a combo wrapping and drying motor in the same unit. I find the standard chuck that comes with these acceptable but many upgrade to the 3-jaw self centering chuck. You can also search the photo site for some really good do it yourself wrapper options if you are handy. Roger Wilson on this site has helped a number of builders with upgrading equipment.
If you are a hobby builder, you'll find the combination of wrapping and drying to be pretty efficient so I would suggest one of these. If you don't want to build your own, troll the site and look for used ones as well. I see these for sale pretty often. New ones with an 8' bed should be in the neighborhood of $250 or so if you catch them on sale. Terry Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
