Hello,
I'm curious about use of white vinegar to prepare surface on carbon blank before gluing handle, reel seat, etc. I know vinegar is use before painting plastic, but on carbon blank ? Vinegar will damage the blank ? Vinegar make a good surface prep before gluing ? Thank you. Re: white vinegar and surface preparation

Why use any liquid, you don't need it and who knows what it might do long term as it is acidic. Re: white vinegar and surface preparation

It won't hurt your blank, but it will not prepare the surface in the same way that a de-glossing will. Vinegar would only serve as the solvent in the initial cleaning process to remove oils, wax, grease, etc.

White vinegar will neutralize the reaction that occurs in a 2 part epoxy, keeping it from curing. Re: white vinegar and surface preparation
