More and more I am getting requests for building grip specific rods for anglers with disabilities. I enjoy the challenge and really enjoy helping others, in a small way, to enjoy fishing in spite of whatever their disability is.
This forum covers a wide range of rod building topics. I learn from reading this board. However I would like to converse email-to-email with other builders that build for the disabled. I do NOT want to start a separate forum board. I wold like to get together with other builders to share ideas, photographs, designs, and problems specific to this topic. Is anyone interested in joining an email group that deals specifically with building fishing rods for disabled anglers?I don't want to reinvent the wheel each time a new problem arises and I might have been using an idea or two that someone else can use. Any general new idea or technique developed by this group can certainly be posted on rodbuilding.org I am looking at an email group format as way to exchange information quickly with a specific number of interested users instead of reading through multiple posts that are mixed in on a general board such as this. Any interest? Buzz Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 02/23/2013 10:28AM by Buzz Butters. Re: attention builders who build for anglers with disabilities

I have not built anything for a disabled angler but I am interested in the email group. I am always full of ideas and have access to a machine shop. ______________________________________ Super Tight Lines......Don Re: attention builders who build for anglers with disabilities

Buzz, I would have interest in any discussions. I have built for several fishermen with shoulder and spine problems. Nothing yet for hand or grip problems. I found a great deal of satisfaction providing this type of help.

Does a builder with a dissability count? If so count me in I started building because I needed something I could do from home whilst recovering. Cheers Mark Newcombe Old Bar NSW Australia markscustomfishing.com American Tackle Pro-Staff Re: attention builders who build for anglers with disabilities

Count me in! Great plan. I have done one handle for a guy with a hand injury.

Not related...just a warning for those leaving their email on the open forum...
This is one way spam ends up in your mailbox. Robots/people scan discussion forums looking for emails. The robot programs tend to focus in on the "@" symbol I believe. I would suggest sending your information via email (Buzz's email is listed under his name if you click it), or leave it on the board by being creative in the spelling. If your email is: unknownrodbuilder@gmail.com you could write it on the board as: unknownrodbuilder AT gmail DOT com I don't think the scanning robots would pick up on it that way. Just a heads up. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
