I'm looking for a printer to print in gold, silver, and or white on clear labels. Similar to the old ALPS I keep reading about that is discontinued or the Epson printer for $25, 000. I build rods out of my home, not looking to break the bank....any help would be appreciated.

I'm in agreement with Decal Connection. You simply cannot beat their service or price. I e mail them what I want and a few days later the decals are in my mail box. Peel and stick work just fine if applied correctly. No worries. Trying to print yourself is a waste of time and money.

Decal Connection's newer Peel & Stick are very thin and have a cover sheet that allows you to burnish with damaging the decal.

I just recently started using the Pulsar Pro Fx system. It takes a learning curve and I still waste a few. But I have been able to make some nice decals. They have 19 foil colors. All you need is a laminator and a plain B&W laser printer.

I agree the prices at DC are great...but I teach 1 day classes and don't know what my students want on the decal. I could just say custom built by but some would like dedications ....... in some cases students signup only a day or 2 in advance. In this class they don't get too many choices since it is the basics in 1 day. I would love to print the custom decals on the spot for them. I'm not too excited about the foil transfers...just loking for a small printer I can take with me and hook up to my laptop. Thanks
