Hi Paul,
I could be off base here but I'm not sure what you mean. If your talking about muti axis diamond underwrap for a scale wrap then it wouldn't be good. Madeira 60wt is thinner than the 40wt and wouldn't stand out much. You need to use "d" or"e" thread for that as it will then stand out the most when it is overwrapped and give a nice scale pattern. I was talking about a curved chevron wanting to learn any tips or tricks for increasing the 3D effect I am building arod for my brother and this is the pattern he wants. Re: Another fish scale question

In my experience shading and color choices go a long way towards creating depth in that pattern.

That's my problem he wants 1 color that is purple and now he wants me to take out the black because it makes the pattern too dark and won't match his boat . I told him it's no longer a scale if I don't do the black it is just a diamond. Re: Another fish scale question

fade,fade fade...dark purple to light...the dark purple will give the contrast as long as the first fade color is not too similar...thanks for using my wrap as an example joe www.southriverrodsllc.com Re: Another fish scale question
