I put a peice of masking tape around it and scribe a line then use a very fine tooth hack saw blade and rotate as I go. Once finshed I touch it up with a sand paper. Not unlike cutting a blank.

I've used masking tape and cut with the edge of my hook file (took a little while, but worked well) or a cutoff wheel on my Dremel.

We put our tubes on a lathe and then use a dremel tool. It's the only way to get a 100 percent perfectly square cut. It's especially important on our tapered handle, forecork and butt section tubes.
