I post this on a fiberglass forum but thought I would post here in case any of you have customers who might be interested in the blank
I ordered a built a James Green fiberglass 10' 7wt switch. The blank weighed about 4oz and is mid flex. I used a 4' butt of burl and rubber cork installed the reel as downlocking and a 10.5" forgrip. With a heavier reel this balance out nice. James told me it cast best with a 390gr head but being fiberglass it can handle wide tolerances. I used my Mieser 340gr scandi head and could easlier single spey 55-60ft and I am not a good spey caster. I took it to the Erie tribs friday and it was a joy to fish with and it handle several 8-9lbs with ease. Bob Re: I built something a little different

Fiberglass is really making a nice come back in the fly rod world. I think your going to see more of the "specialty" fiberglass blank makers bringing out more switch and spey blanks. Re: I built something a little different

I love it, I can only guess how SLOW you have to go with it. Glass can be very forgiving to the caster. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
