Have you checked out the link to RodWerx in the column to the left? Maybe you can get some ideas there. Prints on reel seats, reel side plates, blanks, etc.

If you are using a camo grip and a camo patterned wrap, I would use a matching solid green or brown blank rather than camo the whole thing. Using a camo blank on top of everything else would be way to busy in my opinion. The solid color blank would make the pattern in the other components stand out. I think St. Croix has some green blanks that would work, but I don't know what the parameters of a Cod Rod would be.

i've done several camoflage rods. i bought the blank already done fro Mudhole. But if you're doing and 8 footer you may have to do the camo job yourself.

Krylom makes a spray paint which works really well just pick your camo colors. Prep the rod with a buff pad to give the paint something to adhere better, just scuff it u[ a litle. Pass a length of string through the blank and tie a stck to the butt end of the string. With the string of the tip tie it to something high enough that the butt end of the black is at leas 5 to 10 inches off the floor. You should do this in an as dust free environment as possible. Pick one of the colors to use as a base coat. Don't get too heavy handed. If I were doing it I'd start out with flat desert tan and go from there. Let each coat dry before adding the next color.

The basic color are ; olive drab. mottled brown; desert tan, flat black, even white. Be careful not to plile up paint in one place and use curved pieces of cardboard to make it easier to get the pattern you'd like.

Other than that there are companies which make great vynal camo stuff which can be uses on cars. That's what I use..

Good luck.
