Hey guys just wanted to pick your brains on thread sealer and tiger wraps. Do you use it on the first wrap and second wrap.

There is quite a bit about how using CP, nylon and/or NCP threads affects the vibrancy or contrast of these wraps in the articles in the online library here.

I use CP on both layers to keep the colors true.

If you are using cp on the top layer of the tiger, avoid brushing across the wrap or you will trap micro bubbles in the gaps left from removing the sacrificial thread. To eliminate this from happening i use a 50/50 mix of flexcoat cp and distilled water. Thinning the cp stops it from frothing and forming bubbles. I lower the brush on to the start of the wrap and turn the rod at the same time until i have completely saturated it, then with a dryer brush i do the same procedure and wick off the excess. One coat is usually enough. The first coat of finish i put on fairly thick, then hit it with some seat from an alcohol lamp/torch, then i remove most of it so all im left with is just a sealer coat, the thinner coat makes it easy to remove all the bubbles before i apply the final second coat.

I use it on the first wrap but not the top over the tiger part of the wrap. Gives me the look I am looking for.

I'm with Chris. I use CP on the underwraps, but not on the top wraps. I've found that this tends to work better when your top wrap is a darker color.
