Looking for some assistance, looking for two bass rig set-ups:
1) A high quality drop shot blank spinning - size between 6'9" and 7' - want something with good parabolic action throughout and sensitivity, will be fishing light line Drop Shots - buddy was curious if any of these models are available in colors other than a graphite. 2) Looking to a casting rod, that will be used as a finesse rod to throw such lures as weightless t-rigs, wacky rigs around and up to an 1/8 ounce... Want something that will allow me to still have the casting ability but also have a bit of backbone without feeling stiff throughout. Having trouble determining what type blank. 1) You are probably looking at a popping blank for the action you want. Maybe a Batson XP842, but personally, I prefer extra fast actions in drop shot rods along the lines of an 822.5.
2) Take a look at the RX8+S823 or one of the 802.75 blanks from Batson or a 68MXF from St. Croix or similar. Joe Re: Help selecting a couple new Bass set ups

Call one of the "bass pros" ... either Alex at Hydra or Lance at Swampland. Re: Help selecting a couple new Bass set ups

Dropshot:
St Croix 3, 4, or 5 S70MLF or S69MLXF, Lamiglas XMG 50 SJ842 or 862 Phenix UMBX S700L or S700M MHX SJ841, SJ842 Casting: One of my favorite blanks for the techs you described is the St Croix 5C68MXF although I was alittle disappointed in the sensitivity of their NSI models. MHX Mag Bass 782 might be another option Re: Help selecting a couple new Bass set ups

I recommend a Hydra SJ842 for a drop shot rig. I use one for my primary rod for bass fishing and i love it. Super light, great backbone, performs very well with worms, drop shot and finesse. David Dosser Coshocton, OH Re: Help selecting a couple new Bass set ups

Batson make 2 XP blanks even lighter than the 842 suggested, depends on how light is light. These blanks are Ti colored instead of the darker graphite, very close to the same color as the Batson Ti colored guides. Re: Help selecting a couple new Bass set ups

Mr. Burns,
You may also want to consider one of our new Quickline popping blanks. We have had very positive feedback so far from both bass and walleye customers. The only color we stock is gloss black. The actions are certainly not parabolic but the lower power models (see listings below) are pretty easy to flex. There is also CCS data for these available on our website. Best of luck with your builds.
