i was wondering what this was called and how to achieve this and also is there any tutorials ive looking at a few sites but cant find it any where
most likely cause im searching the wrong technique

Instead of a winding check - A ramp is made with either reel seat arbor cork eva You can use finish but ya have to let it dry several days to harden
If you look for - Ramp - you should find a lot about it

The ramp base (before thread) can also be shaped from Rod Bond. Quick Set is best. A search for "thread ramps" should turn up something.
