So im looking around at a few different styles etc of guides and see several labeled as "concept" guides. When comparing these with others that are made of similar materials I see very little difference. Without viewing them in person the only real difference I can see is that they appear to not be stamped but more of a formed frame.
Anyone familiar with this type / style and why they may or may not be better than the others which are roughly 25-50% less and made of similar materials. thanks Re: concept guides

The Fuji Concept guides have a recessed ring compared to the "regular" Fuji guides. There are many companies making good guides but IMO Fuji are second to none!! Re: concept guides

A "concept" guide is any Fuji guide designed to satisfy the ideas set forth in Fuji's "New Guide Concept". They are generally lighter and height sensitive to the needs of the concept. Re: concept guides

Casey,
There are lots of great guides are out there. All of the folks to the left have guides that can be used in a variety of guide train layouts. For a little insight into the various frame designs, take a look at some of the material on Hydra's site. [www.hydrafishing.com] [www.hydrafishing.com] I can't say that one guide is better than another. Each series has its own benefits. Which guides to use on which rod, depends on the customer, how hard they are on their equipment, and how they fish. I can't say that I've found the perfect guide for all applications across the board. I use guides from Alps, American Tackle, Batson, Fuji, and Kigan in various applications for a variety of reasons. As far as "concept" spinning guides go, they tend to have a taller frame than ther standard spinning guides. These guides are more suited to setting up a rod with the Fuji "New Guide Concept" layouts. I have used spinning guides from Fuji (BYAG, CYAG), American Tackle (NCRLA, NBRLA, DBRLA, DCRLA), and Batson (XBYTLG, XYTLG). All are perfectly good guides and work well for me. They also have a different price range between brands and models. I plan to give the Fuji K(h) series spin guides a shot on one of my next builds.
