FINISH PROBLEM

Just put my first coat of epoxy on my rod. It was in the drying rack tacky, when I accidently bumbed it with my shirt. Of course some fibers from my shirt stuck to the finish, now it looks AWFUL. First time in 15 years building I did something so FOOLISH . Do I wait till it drys completely and lightly sand it??? There is a decale under it ,stupid move on my part.Dont really know how to fix this problem. Thanks for any suggestions.

if it still wet you can pull it by fine needle/tweezers 1 by 1 that's how i deal with fiber from dust particel

You must be fabulously meticulous in your finishing. It only took me 15 minutes to make the mistake it took you 15 years to make. Good job!

If you can pick out all the fibers with a good tweezer, go for it. If you can't get them all, wait till it cures, then sand it until they are gone, then recoat. I think you are in for a 2nd coat in either case. Should turn out fine though if you have to sand and apply a 2nd coat. I do this all the time.

Wait till it drys lightly sand and apply another of finish coat. I hit the finish with sleeve of a jacket jumped back and swung around and hit the finish with my other arm. That happened in year 5.

I think I would have lightly singed it with an alcohol lamp or butane lighter while rotating, then see how it looks. Then if necessary sand and recoat.

Your best bet is to take all or any of them you can out while it is still wet

Then let it set and --- Carefully --- sand or scrap with a razor blade any more you can and recoat

Worst --- Re rape Check with a good LIGHT SOURCE
