My question is, two diffrent brands of wrapping thread with the same color name are they the same color or are they alittle off from each other with no color preserve added before finish is applied.
Thanks!

They won't necessarily be the same color just because they have the same color name, or number.

I definitely wouldn't trust two different brands of the same color to be the same. I always try to grab a spool that has enough on it to complete the entire rod. I don't even like to mix spools of the same color from the same manufacturer on one rod. Dye lot differences can really show up in some designs, depending on what you are wrapping.

Thanks so much, I have to be careful due to the color blindness.

Jim , If your color blind then you might want to re number your spools with a number system for each manufacture you work with, and keep brands separate. As sometimes those sticky labels come off.

Thank you.
My wife has been so patient and helpful in this area too as she was a color inspector at one time.
