How tight a fit does one need between the tenon of the rear cork grip and ID of an eva foam buttcap?
Thanks, kevin Re: Newbie - buttcap question

Neither sloppy loose nor very tight, just snug.

It will fall off by itself, so i guess that counts as sloppy loose? If i need to shim it up, what do i use? Masking tape? Re: Newbie - buttcap question

I think you will be fine using a gel epoxy. Re: Newbie - buttcap question

Was going to use RodBond. Re: Newbie - buttcap question

If you push it onto the tenon, is there enough play that you can wiggle it around? If you have at least light contact between the mating surfaces, you should be okay with RodBond.

It's actually possible to slide it on and not have any contact between the two. Re: Newbie - buttcap question

Kevin,
If there is slop, I just use thin masking tape to keep the butt centered on the grip. Then, I have epoxy above and below the tape for good adhesion to the cap and to the grip. Take care Roger Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
