I was in the odds and ends store the other day and ran across some nice sized (about 6 ozs) glass bottles. The bottles used a tapered glass stopper.
I have always had an issue with storing small quantities of solvent for ready use on the rod bench. The glass bottles have a nice roughened surface on the inner diameter of the tapered top as well as the od of the glass plug. I have used the bottles for a few weeks now and have been well satisfied with the storage as well as the sealing of the bottles. If you run across such bottles, you might give them a try. Very convenient, and since they are glass are not affected by any of the commonly used solvents used in rod building. Roger Here is an example of such bottles and the sealing properties of these bottles: [en.wikipedia.org] Re: Glass bottle for DNA or other solvent.

Cool idea. I use the pump top container from Sally Beauty Supply. the nail people use them for their solvents. I put DNA in it and it's just a quick pump on the towel to saturate it. Re: Glass bottle for DNA or other solvent.

I got a similar pump bottle from my dentist. It's even labeled Alcohol on the side. Re: Glass bottle for DNA or other solvent.

yep Scott I first saw one at the doctors. Went to Sally for some fine grit nail files( great for polishing plastics) and saw the pump bottle. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
