Has anyone tried the 5 min. epoxy glue when gluing the sand paper to the rods ?

I suspect that you will find that nearly all of the large production rod building shops have tapered reamers built for each of their blanks. That way, an assembler simply uses the reamer to make one quick pass through the handle for a perfect fit on the blank with minimum glue needed for good adhesion. Since the shops may make thousands of rods on the same blank, it is a sensible expenditure to have a good steel reamer made for them and for their specific needs per blank design.
