Ferrule replacement

A guy brought me a bamboo fly rod that is missing the female piece of a mid section ferrule. Does the other half need to be removed and repalced as a matching set? Can you buy 1/2 a ferrule? This is not an expensive rod but is functional according to the owner. The guide wraps are obviously amateur. Thanks. Re: Ferrule replacement

The chance of getting one half of the ferrule to fit properly is very remote, and don't know anyone who would sell only half the set. Better to replace both pieces. Re: Ferrule replacement
