Any one using this wrapper or equivalent that can give me an idea how one would go about wrapping ice rods and the tops of fly/spinning rods. Seems the rod would only be supported on one side or the thread spool would have to be outside the device. I am using a home built powered wrapper now but was thinking of something more compact like this since I usually end up using the machine as a hand wrapper anyhow. I build ice rods, fly rods, spinning and casting rods for freshwater and do not do any decorative wrapping other than trim bands. Thanks in advance.

There is a seperate, short arm extension piece that comes with the unit that helps aid in supporting the blank. You can use a clamp to attach to a work bench, table top, etc. You can place the additional third arm support either on the left or right side of the main wrapping unit. Jon,
the newest version of this wrapper is slotted across the top so that the thread carriage and tension device slides back and forth. This way you can move it over to either side and wrap just an inch inside the arm. Todd Regards, Todd Vivian Mud Hole Custom Tackle todd@mudhole.com Edited 1 time(s). I'm planning to give it a try, even if just for cold weather wrapping in the house. -Jon Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
