Hi Everybody,
Im looking for 6 or 6'6ft blank for rock cod fishing in Bay Area. Looking for the smallest butt diameter possible and I will be using 5 to 6oz weight only.I will be fishing around 50ft or less and using squid as bait from a boat. My plan is to build the lightest rod as possible since I will be jigging all day. This will be a casting set up. I have look into the Batson line up, but only see the Knife Jigging Blank has the smallest butt diameter. But not sure about the Moderate action. Anyone has any good suggestions on other blank besides Batson? I would not mine cutting 6" off the butt on a 7ft rod if I have to. Looking for more of Medium or Medium fast action type but wouldnt mind Fast action. Anyone has built one for this type of fishing, if you dont mind sharing the details. greatly appreciated Thanks, Happy Wrapping Trung Re: California Rock Cod Rod

Used to be everyone knew what jigging was. Nowadays there are lots of different styles. If you are not doing vertifical stlye (knife) jigging you might look at Phenix blanks. I have never fished one. Hear the Cali guys are trading in their calstars and seekers for them. Russ in Hollywood, FL. Re: California Rock Cod Rod
