I am having trouble making decals at home. When the decal is applied to the rod, the print disappears into the black blank background. It is as if the ink is transparent and not opaque. How can I make decals that will show up on a black blank?
Thank you! Re: Personalized Decals

Use a white or silver underwrap of thread or paint, depending on the color of your decal lettering.

Thanks everybody for your replies! Sounds like Decal Connection is where we will go for our logo decals! The problem is with the labels that contain the variable rod specs. We need to print them out per rod. We will try first wrapping with a light colored thread, or paint. Re: Personalized Decals

Stephanie,
I assume your using clear water-slide media? Try using the white background paper instead. Your right! Ink-Jet and Laser printers are NOT opaque and I have had the same issue as you when printing on the clear media weather it be water-slide or peel & stick. I found the METALLIC P&S media Swampland had at one time to be great! Raymond Adams Eventually, all things merge, and a river runs through it.. Re: Personalized Decals

Use this forum's search feature -
Enter "electric decal" in the subject field and change dates to all. You will find all you need to make your own decals. The correct media is White Vinyl for type of printer in use - both laser and inkjet printers supported by specific media. If you need any assistance use the Contact Us link at [www.swamplandtackle.com] Re: Personalized Decals

Stephanie, one option is to have your main logo, not specific to rod model/specs, done professionally so you won't be limited on colors, and you can order in quantity for reasonable cost, then do your specs yourself in colors that will show up on the specific blank. Inkjets can do a pretty brignt yellow/gold (not sparkely) that shows well on dark colored blanks, and the lighter blanks can use any dark color. Another possibility, and this could turn your rods into a design easily recognized as "yours," is to do the main logo professionally, and your specs logo in black on transparent media, then put a band of light color on the blank where you want the decals to be. Every rod of yours might have the first 4 inches above the grip in a "Stephanie specific" color, with decals. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
