I have someone wanting a 12ft and 14ft crappie rig. I am not sure what is even out there as far as blanks suitable to use. I am looking for something that would be probably
4-8lb. Anyone built anything similar? Any suggestions? Thanks, Chris Re: crappie blank

I just dropped off some rods to my brother and he was showing me his 14' and 16' crappie rigs that he uses for jigs. They may be B n M rods...I know they make them. Perhaps contact B n M and ask were they get their blanks. Re: crappie blank

Might want to consider the Batson Rainshadow RX8 XST1562F and RX7 IST1562F. They're 13' light float/center pin rods. A friend of mine has built out both of these to target panfish in canals in the spring and I was very happy with them. Re: crappie blank

For this lenght rods, I have been using Steel Head rods. They have the butt strength to do an excellent job, but still have a nice light tip.

Steel Head blanks were my first thought. I was wondering if I would get any suggestions for that. Looking at the Tip size and weight I was thinking that would be suitable.
Thanks Roger. Chris Re: crappie blank

Go with a Steelhead blank as suggested. I have built a bunch of Crappie rods on this blank, they work great. As Roger said, they have plenty of backbone and very nice tips. J.B.Hunt Bowling Green, KY Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
