Several ? icw rod building & blanks

Might as well shotgun this and ask several questions in my mind.

I have some spey rod blanks purchased off @#$%&. They were advertised as having plugs in the male ends of each section. They do not. How can I plug them?
Does plugging them just keep dirt and water out or do they help reinforce that part of the blank that goes into the female end?

What do you think would be wrong with, or any possible benefit if one sprayed construction expanding foam into each section of the blank? Make it too heavy? Less likely to break? Make it a faster
faster action rod? Would this be a way to make a medium action or full flex rod stiffer...thus making it a fast action rod?

When I have a 14' (4) piece spey rod blank designated 5/6.....does that mean one needs a 7/8 "spey line" on that rod....or a single hand 5/6 wt line? What would be the grain weight of said blank
to effectively two handed style. I have read that a spey 8wt line is equivalent to a 10wt single hand line. And I have read that spey lines can be 2-"3" line wts heaver than an equivalent single
hand rod. So.....when one gets a spey rod designated 5/6 wt....WHAT line would one look for to use on it?

I have searched in the past.....I am sure it has been addressed before on here. But my search came up empty. How does one use the CCS system to determine the action and the proper line weight
to put on a spey rod?

Should each of these questions been separate topics?

tks in advance....I know some people on here will help me out......

Jim

You can use epoxy (paste type) to create end plugs. Purpose is to keep foreign material out of blank, not strength. Adding expanding foam will definitively add weight, can't comment on other effects on the blank.

Not clear about your line wt questions.
