Question about painting St Croix SCV

I have a question to friends.
Someone is having a problem with the painting of St. Croix blanks?

There is a time ago I made a purchase of 98 blanks, 50 units of Blank SCV with the new finish and they are peeling, and are coming out with the glue, when the tie passdores or do a twisted it becomes more marked and a number of problems and now that I've ridden all starting to have problems with my clients, because the shell blanks and I have to give this guarantee and equipment that is expensive.
Does anyone have the same problem?

Thanks to all

If the factory St. Croix finish is peeling, they may be covered under warranty. Of course this means you'd have to rebuild a lot of rods for folks, and St. Croix won't cover your labor.

It may well be less expensive to repaint them yourself.

Dear Friend Tom

They've met me in a case and I am grateful for the attention. however I am in the third case and I am finding that I get in trouble, expense and unnecessary work in the future.

Tom I'm not here to speak ill of a renowned brand and I appreciate very much, just want to know if some friends had the same problem, but is far away, expensive, time consuming and very difficult to explain to my clients, and these rods are not cheap here in Brazil.

I understand.

St. Croix makes a great product but there have been reports over the years that their paint/finishes are not the most durable. I have had a few problems with them myself. However, the newer models these past few years are said to have much better paint/finish than earlier models.

As a considerable builder and user of St Croix blanks/rods ... I agree with both statements. Some of the older blanks (blue and brown) were sensitive to solvents. I had no issues with LIGHT use of rubbing alcohol, but DNA and stronger solvents were taboo. I haven't had any personal issue, or client reported issue, with the paint after leaving my workbench. The newer models have given me no problems and I have definitely tested them to make sure of it (always use the area to be covered by the grips/seat for testing). I don't have ANY hesitation in recommending their products AND they make up the majority of my personal collection.

I have discussed this with St Croix at length and have NOT found this to be the case. Obviously, you are entitled to your opinion.

I have played with -- many -- different finishes
this being one I found to be just like an auto 2 K clear

Please ---- [www.klasskote.com]

Why believe anyone unless you -- test -- it out first

THEN WHY IS IT PEELING ??????

If I refinish a blank and the finish - peals -- I should back it up and redo it

WHEY THE @#$%& SHOULD THEY NOT DO THE SAME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As usual, Mr. Dan St. Croix has readily through my partner in Miami Fl, with great professionalism my question about the painting, even offering me a replacement of the blanks, will not be the case because they have decided with my clients, who gave me problems.

Friends was just curious if there were other cases, I believe that was the case with only a series or a lot.

Thank you for your opinions
