Hello All(you too Bill)
5 day's ago I had some bad back pains so I took some drugs the doctor gave me, 5 minutes I felt nothing from the drugs(little sticker says "alcohol will increase effect") so I took a bottle of Captain Morgans rum and took a couple of swallows. Ten minutes later the drugs kicked in next thing you know I feel GOOOOODDD and start doing a thread wrap using braid in the split area of a rod without as much as thinking what I was going to do. I just started wrapping X's around the blank, taped it off and then put 1/4 spool of black thread around both ends too hide the lumps, mixed some epoxy added some black marbling pigment and covered the thread area with that next I mixed another batch of clear epoxy and just poured it over the (croookeed)wrap. The next day I got up looked at it and added another coat of clear epoxy over the whole wrap and said to heck with it, it will still fish good, I still need to put the guides on, I'm going to do that this weekend with whats left of my bottle of Captain Morgans!!! No more straight lines!?... Bob, New Bern, NC. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 05/18/2012 01:57PM by Robert A. Guist. Re: Bill: Friday Funnies!!!

I did something similar with codine. Don't ever wrap guides while taking the stuff, I had a spiral wrapped spinning rod and the grips backwards. Re: Bill S.: Friday Funnies!!!

Hi Robert,
At the tender young age of 47 my immune system went haywire, decided that the insulin producing cells in my prancreas were alien objects and killed them off, turning me into an insulin dependent diabetic. A bout of hypo glycaemia is one of the worst feelings you can experience, you loose all your co-ordination and balance, your head spins and all sorts of stupid crap goes through your mind. A bad one can send you unconscious and the only way out of that is to get a glucose injection, not good if your alone. Once it gets hold of you there's not much you can do. I usually feel it coming and get some carbs into me but occasionally it sneaks up on me. Happened once while I was building, putting some cp on the threads. Luckily I didn't make a mess out of it but if I'd been applying finish or gluing up grips and seats then a complete strip would have been required. Lucky for me that night my wife noticed I hadn't come to bed and came to investigate. I was out to it on the floor but she was able to get me awake enough to get some orange juice into me Nothing funny about that, Friday or any other day. I really hope you "like" your new wrap. A good reminder to all to read the labels on any medication, take note of the possible side affects and don't do anything while you are under the effects. Me, I've just got to be really careful and make sure I've got some carbs whenever I go anywhere, especially driving and fishing. ESFNEM Col Port Kembla, NSW Australia Re: Bill S.: Friday Funnies!!!

Not a problem.... if you want to show a friend your wrap, feed him some Capt. Morgan, then show it to him... he'll thinks it the best wrap ever.... :)

Hello ALL.
Hi Bill, I dont smoke but the finish was a little bubbly. Hi David, I'll try butt I have yet to get a picture to take(computer illiterate). Hi Matthew, mine was Oxycodone. Hi Col, sorry to hear about your medical problems, and yes never mix meds & alcohol it will throw you for a loop. The wrap will help remind me to have a little patience and wait and not go adding booze too meds. Hi Jeff, it wasnt all the Capt. Oxy had a lot to do with it (never again). Thank to ALL for the comments. (I love tis place). Bob, New Bern, NC. Re: Bill S.: Friday Funnies!!!

Hi Robert,
Your not the only one that's computer illerate, so if I can get some pics loaded then so should you. The biggest problem with getting them to load is their size. If your using a digital then the software that comes with it should allow you to resize any photo's, just keep making them smaller until they load. I'd also be interested in seeing what that combo has produced. Becoming a type 1 diabetic at that age is fairly uncommon, but I cope and no adverse effects to date. There is a lot of people worse off than me as I can still fish (with care) and can still build rods ESFNEM Col Port Kembla, NSW Australia Re: Bill S.: Friday Funnies!!!
