Tag end problem

Have been using size a metallic thread and am not happy with the way the tag end looks when pulled under to lock in place. For some reason it is very pronounced. As in you can see exactly where it was pulled under and where it stops.

Am I doing something wrong or using an incorrect thread. Its like the thread is so thin that you can see everything under the wrap.

I looked at a couple rods I did years ago and could slightly see where the end was pulled, but nothing like what im getting today.

Any ideas ??

Im not an expert but I supose ,your problem have something to do with the tension you use on the main thread...the more tension you apply, more visible tag ends you get under the wrap.

A size metallic (like gudebrod HT) is actually a little larger than the A size nylon. More tension will tend to make the tag ends stand out. You can try loosening the tension a bit and burnishing more. if this doesn't solve your problem, you might want to try Sulky metallics (craft or fabric store). Lots of colors and the metallic braid does not have a core and is a little smaller than A size thread, also much less visible.

Hope this helps.

Maybe, years ago you did somehow diferent..another tension device or another type of thread (some are softer than other)...but im almost sure if you'll try with less tension, you will be closer to the results of that years ...good luck.

Just move your tag ends up close to the guide foot where they are much easier hidden.
