Does anyone recommend using a single foot guide for the stripper on a 6'6" - 2wt fly rod? I couldn't find any information on that specifically and was wondering if it would be a bad idea or a good one. The rod will be used for panfish, crappie etc and it is a 2pc. Any suggestions? Why not? This is custom rod building. I think its a good idea. Re: SF Stripper guide on 2wt. fly rod

The only reason to use a double foot guide there would be if you anticipate that a single footer would not stand up to the particular use. Unless you plan to knock the rod around a great deal, it'll work fine. But if you did use a double foot guide there, it won't hurt the rod. Not enough weight in not the wrong place.

Thanks for the help. This is for my dad and he is gentle with his rods. I'm going to go with the single footer zero-tangle Kigan. David Dosser Coshocton, OH Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
