another repair

I had a fellow drop off a St. Croix PM70HF2(7 foot medium/heavy muskie casting rod) with a missing ring on the stripping guide. Any idea of guide brand and insert? Black Fuji M series with aluminum oxide insert seems really close. Should I replace it with a ring lock style guide? He said it didn't have to match exactly.

I don't know off hand which guides St. Croix uses but if you contact them they will let you know and if that model hasn't been discontinued I would replace it with what it had originally.

The only reason I wouldn't use the exact replacement if it's available would be if my client HAD to have the rod working NOW and not later. (like for a tournament or something) and I
would get that decision in WRITING.

This is what the St.Croix website says about Premier SC II series rods:
"Batson Forecast® hard aluminum-oxide guides with double-plated black chrome frames."
Cheers,
Michal
