Casting Performance

Will you loose any casting distance or performance doing a spiral micro set-up for a MHX C 907 blank ? Its about a light med hvy 7 1/2' .Building it for big crankbaits and want to cast as far as possible......Thanks Re: Casting Performance

Short answer- Not if done correctly.
But I do have to ask, why would you spiral wrap a light med hvy (not sure what that is BTW) crankbait rod? Re: Casting Performance

The line has no idea what side of the rod it's on. Unless you employ some type of very sharp-short revolver rod spiral wrap, casting distance will suffer any practical impairment.
In most cases, any casting rod will benefit from being spiral wrapped. All my crankbait rods, regardless of power, are spiral wrapped. I wouldn't do them any other way. .................. Re: Casting Performance
