I always end up with glue to clean out of the blank exposed window on casting seats - kind of a pain.
Any tips for minimizing or eliminating this? Thanks - Marc Keep it simple - that's all I can handle! Re: Blank Exposed Casting Seats - Clean-up After Glueing?

I learned from Bill Stevens that initially you should just wipe it off with a dry paper towel. If you use alcohol the epoxy will thin and ooze out in spots. I usually wipe with alcohol later when the Rod Bond is starting to set.

rubbing alcohol and a toothbrush.
toothbrush trick also works for cleaning glue out of the spaces between grips, reel seats, etc... Re: Blank Exposed Casting Seats - Clean-up After Glueing?

If you use enough solvent and work hard enough you can remove enough adhesive that will result in an unwanted conversion of casting seat to a "spinning" seat. Re: Blank Exposed Casting Seats - Clean-up After Glueing?
