As per my MudHole catalog, it looks like the "old" NIA and NIC series titanium guides from American Tackle have been replaced lock, stock, and barrel by "ring lock" versions. I have used the NIRLC 6's, and they seem to have a much lower profile than the old NIC 6's, but I have no experience with any of the larger size ring locks in either the casting or spinning versions. So here are my questions:
1) How do the larger ring size NIRLC guides compare to the NIC's in height for the same ring size? 2) Which current guide series is the replacement for the old NIA series, NIRLS or NIRLVL? 3) And for whichever is the replacement, how do the larger of these guides compare in height to the old NIA's for the same ring size? Not looking for specifics as far as heights, just guidelines like a little lower, a lot lower, or whatever. Thanks all. Bilgee Re: amtack titanium guide help

The NIA guides are still in our current inventory. They will eventually be replaced by the ring lock version, NIRLA. The NIC guides are discontinued. We still have few left in various sizes but when those are gone that will be it. We have four different titanium guides available as replacements. The NIRLC, the Typhoon series NIRLS, and the Virtus series in light and heavy frames, NIRLVL and NIRLVH. Using a size 16 as an example the NIRLC regular casting guide sits a bit lower than the NIC. The NIRLS is bit higher frame than the regular casting guide but still sits a tiny bit lower than the NIC. The Virtus series sit about the same height as the NIC, both light and heavy frame. I have detailed specs available on all of our guides if you wold like to shoot me an E-Mail I will be happy to answer any questions you may have. MIck Hinton American Tackle Co.
