Ok I was lookint at Avet HX 2 speeds reels on a website and the next thing i know i see a screen that says order place. You will recieve your reel in a few days. I dont know how that happened but it did. Now i want to build a rod for it. I am thinking of building a rail rod as many times you just put the rod on the rail and crank. I am thinking of a Gator 6ft blank. My question is what do i use for the fore grip? I have built saltwater rods before and used a slick but and an eva forgrip of about 6 or 8 inches. Help me out here guys i am clueless. As always thanks for your help! Kevin Gross Many men will spend their whole life wondering if they made a difference. Hi Kevin,
If the rod is going to spend a lot of time on the rail I'd say that a hypalon foregrip would be more durable than eva. You'd have to work out the length required so the end of the hypalon would not be on the rail and for what would suit you best. A plain foregrip would be best as there is less chance of splitting if you put trim rings etc in it. ESFNEM Col Port Kembla, NSW Australia Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
