I am trying to source this material for use in coloring epoxy perfectly white. Was told that any paint store would have it but I have had zero luck in finding it there. Any ideas? Is it still made? Re: Titanium Dioxide?

There are different grades of TiO2. They're not necessarily pure white. And it's a dry powder that you would need to grind into the resin base. Try experimenting with the tinting concentrates at the paint store. Tell them you want to put it into the epoxy so they know what to give you. Re: Titanium Dioxide?

ED I've obtained the Titanium pigments from a MOLDING & CRAFT outlet here in OZ, maybe if you did a search with that heading you might find an outlet in the U.S Re: Titanium Dioxide?

ED, go to a place that sells stuff for cheese making/dairy ( maybe even try tractor supply?).
I used it in cheese making to get Feta snow white and a little goes a very long way. Re: Titanium Dioxide?

Ed,
Another source I have been looking into is the ladies with there own (Make up) making supply. They have a product line of powders with many purities, bases and colors. I am also a marbling artist and have been looking for alternative powder pigments outside the fishing industry. I think I have found the source of powders I am looking for. Unfortunately I am in the middle of 6 builds on the bench and have not had the time to check the products out. Now the powders are not mixed with any thing and are the same as what is used in our powder paints and pigment augmentation uses. I suggest talking to a ladie who is making her own "eyeshadow" they will have a line on the vendors they are using and go from there. Just my quick thoughts and ideas for you to work with . Gotta go to the Doc today Have a great weekend all! Rick H. rwheil@msn.com Website [www.facebook.com] [home.comcast.net] Re: Titanium Dioxide?

Yes Matt Sewell, Sounds like you have already been there done that! and most likely ahead in knowledge of their product line! I have only had a chance to look at a friends supply of powders and I was impressed with the purity of the colors they have especially in the (pearl color) department. I had no idea they had this available for just anyone and they take there powders very seriously. You can buy in small bag quantities grams or ounces or in bulk depending on your need base. Thanks for posting it will save me some search time indeed! Marbles away! Rick H. rwheil@msn.com Website [www.facebook.com] [home.comcast.net] Re: Titanium Dioxide?

Yeah, I am in the paint business. There are a lot more products out there than they have. If you have any paint, additives, or coatings questions you can give me a call anytime. My number is (239)560-8252. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
