Liquid v. Gel Epoxy

When would you use one over the other? For epoxy work, such as the reel seat and grip, I use the gel, propaste and rod bond. Having never used the liquid form of epoxy, when would you use it? Does one bond better than the other? Pros and Cons of each?

Biggest for me is cost and ability to dictate set up time. Brands like west allow you to pick different hardners.

The gel products offer a good many advantages for custom rod builders as they don't tend to seep or leak out of the joints.

I still prefer liquid for gluing cork rings (although I use quite a bit of Titebond II and III for that these days).

I have paste style, and two different liquids, all three have their place for sure.

Paste: reel seats (other than the soft touch kind, those require liquid because the paste will stain the soft touch finish), cork grips

5 minute liquid: top tops, butt caps, a small grip or one I need on tight fast, cork rings (short grip), fiberglass mesh tape arbor, and reel seats of I'm in a hurry

30 minute liquid: soft touch reel seats, EVA, hypalon, cork rings, cork grips

I use paste for everything; the liquid is just a drippy PITA.
